Welp, this was an instant purchase: berkeleymono.com
I’ve been using Fira Code as my default fixed-width typeface for years, but this… oof. Be still, my quivering heart.

Just testing something, nothing to see here 🙈
You’re a handsome devil, what’s your name?
Is it just me, or does it take hours between posting to your micro.blog and the entry showing up in the timeline? Not sure if I broke something editing my cross-posting preferences. 🤔
Okay, I finally got around to creating a first IFTTT applet: creating a new journal entry in Day One when I post something to Micro.blog (as recommended by so many).
Let’s see how it works!
Picked up a little treat for myself yesterday. I typically drink peat-y scotches, but this is just lovely.
I really, really need to get around to redoing my personal website. Well, websites. And I’ll probably either hand-code them as static landing pages, or point them at something (like my GitHub profile page) that also needs updating.
Ugh.
Huh, I forgot that Day One offers a CLI. I think at some point I was using a script by Brett Terpstra? Maybe I’ll try my hand at writing my own. 🤔
Just (re-)connected Micro.blog to Mastodon, so kindly ignore this test post. 🙂
Looking for a new keyboard and I might finally get into the clicky kind — right now I’m looking at the MX Mechanical Mini w/ tactile switches. 🤔 Pricey, but seems well-built (and well-reviewed).
It’s getting to that point of the winter where everyone seems to be feeling ready for it to be over.
I don’t have to commute in the cold and the snow and the slop, so I don’t feel as affected, but it’ll be nice to be done with the winter garb rigmarole.
Updated the lock screen today to showcase one of Montreal’s most iconic —and controversial— landmarks.
Wish these custom lock screens could be set up to swap images when the system switches to dark mode, though.
New lock screen feels very à propos for this blustery morning.
A thing I noticed since I started publishing microposts from my blog out to various services is that my engagement falls, e.g. I visit Micro.blog less, so naturally I don’t interact with the community here, and I’m sure I bore folks who follow me across multiple services. 🤔
Experimenting now with a personal Mastodon instance. Still a fair bit of setup to do, but in the meanwhile, find me here: @toots@angelo.land
Apparently, December has felt long enough that I’ve started writing “2022” in my journal.
Renaming “Do Not Disturb” to “Focus” in iOS 15, and expanding how the feature works, is very cool.
Allowing developers to register notifications as “Time Sensitive” to break through Focus, without giving users the ability to report apps that abuse this feature, is… less cool.
Who do I know using asdf
? Is it working well for you?
Coil blogs are migrating to Write.as, and to help set folks up for the transition, the WriteFreely app is on sale until June 2nd!
💉 Applying bugfix_pfizer_1.patch

Nice! Will be releasing the update alongside Wednesday’s Dispatches from Dropped Bits HQ newsletter.
Holy smokes, Thought Detox is mentioned on iMore! 🤯
A big thank you to Club MacStories for including Thought Detox in its list of App Debuts this week! 🙏
It’s a great newsletter, please consider supporting them if you’re able to. 🙂
I’ll be the first to admit that I never thought of a writing platform as being a useful resource for libraries — but it makes sense! Check out Write.as for Libraries. ✍️📚
Okay, #SwiftUI question time! You need to pass info from e.g. an EnvironmentObject or Core Data into a Mac app’s ComandMenu. How do you make that happen? Trying to use FocusedBindings as in this thread isn’t working for me. Any other ideas?
