@pratik Thanks! I have a now page at angelo.land/now but honestly I just don’t update it as often as I should.

@pratik oh, good tip!
@pratik I’m generally pretty moderate on social media, business or not, because there are too many folks out there that need drama dogpiles in their lives.
To your other point, if someone @
-mentions my business/app account on another platform, I’ll almost certainly reply.
@pratik Yeah, definitely. In my case I’ve also got business/app focused accounts, but those I think are a bit easier to use as broadcast channels. 🤔
Anyways, I don’t know where I’m really going with this, but it’s just something that’s been on my mind lately. 🤷🏻♂️
When you no longer have to visit other platforms to post there, you also miss out on conversations that others are starting. That’s on me, of course, and I’m sure Buffer and similar services would have the same effect on my “engagement,” for lack of a better word.
One thing that I really loved about Micro.blog was automated sharing to other platforms. Type a message, and it gets shared wherever folks might follow you. But the more I think about it, the more I think this contributed to my disengagement across all platforms. It turned me into a broadcaster.
@numericcitizen sure! Sometimes I have to connect to WiFi at a café or a coworking space. I prefer to route things through the VPN in that case.
(Though I’ll be honest, I usually just tether to my phone’s hotspot for shorter sessions.)
@numericcitizen I use TunnelBear.
@numericcitizen it’s his defense mechanism, I think — he knows he can play the cute card to get out of trouble 😂
More on that in today’s article on Two Common Cents Club: www.twocommoncents.club/making-ti...
@LJPUK I think that’s the same case I use with my natural titanium phone. Mostly I go caseless, but it’s handy at the gym, and I like the colour combo. It looks really nice on black too, which I didn’t expect!
@jemostrom wait, MailMate is available on iOS? 😮
@pratik oh thanks, I’ll have a look!
@SimonWoods oh thanks, I’ll check that out!
@pratik same, it’s nice to do it somewhere else for the sake of variety 👍
@pratik Raconteur.
@manton won’t someone please think of the NPS score? 🥺
@manton @amerpie also, Day One data is end-to-end encrypted so I’m not even sure how they could sell that data for training purposes. 🤔
Though I’m not sure if it’s encrypted by default, so I guess that’s a whole other thing.
@ridwan I love the hot and spicy stuff too, and usually bring a megadose of cipro just in case things go sideways and I end up with the Traveller’s Technicolor Yawn®️!
@numericcitizen I like your reasoning here.
For me, a paid sub on twocommoncents.club lets users comment on posts, receive articles as email newsletters, participate in AMAs, and get discounts on tools & services I use to run my business.
@ridwan I’m glad you’re feeling better. 🙂
@ridwan I’ll write a bit more about my thinking, but yeah — the app doesn’t bring in any material revenue so why dissuade more people from using it by charging, I guess?
@manton Pricing is so hard to get right!
I love that you call out the importance of looking back on price decisions with an eye towards simplifying things for customers. Seems extra important as a small, bootstrapped, business—do you plan on writing more about it when you’ve sorted it all out?
